Job description

Overview

Languages: English

Education: Bachelor's degree

Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years

Work Conditions: On site. Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.

Responsibilities

  1. Administer staff consultation and grievance procedures
  2. Coordinate the activities of the HR department in order to ensure they meet the organization’s goals
  3. Plan, develop, implement and evaluate human resources policies and programs
  4. Review HR projects to assure compliance with laws and regulations
  5. Train staff
  6. Advise managers and employees on the interpretation of human resources policies, benefit programs and collective agreements
  7. Establish and implement policies and procedures
  8. Oversee the classification and rating of occupations
  9. Plan, develop and implement recruitment strategies
  10. Research and prepare occupational classifications, job descriptions and salary scales
  11. Administer benefit employment equity and other human resources programs
  12. Co-ordinate employee performance and appraisal programs
  13. Manage training and development strategies
  14. Research employee benefits and health and safety practices and recommend changes
  15. Respond to employee questions and complaints
  16. Liaise with management, union officials and HR consultants
  17. Organize staff consultation and grievance procedures
  18. Oversee payroll administration
  19. Provide customer service
  20. Recruit and hire staff
  21. Conduct performance reviews
  22. Propose improvements to methods, systems and procedures
  23. Evaluate work environments, programs and procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent disease or injury

Experience and Specialization

Computer and Technology Knowledge: Human resources software, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Word
