AHS Pharmacy Services would like you to consider joining our pharmacy team in Edson as part of the North Zone Team for your summer employment. Summer employment will commence mid May and will finish in mid to late August. This opportunity will place you as part of a Pharmacy Team that consists of a Pharmacist, as well as Pharmacy Technicians and Assistants.
Description:
Duties are primarily clinically focused, with a minimal role in drug distribution for students entering 4th year in the fall. For students entering 2nd or 3rd year, dispensary and drug distribution services will be an integral part of the position combined with many clinical learning opportunities. Wherever possible, emphasis will be placed on direct patient care activities such as patient counseling, medication histories, allergy assessments, assisting in Long Term Care reviews, assisting in acute care discharges, and the provision of drug information. Work shifts will generally be scheduled Monday to Friday during the day, with no anticipated evening or weekend responsibilities. Duties related to the safe distribution of drugs within a hospital will also be a part of the position to gain insight into the workflows of other positions. The distribution tasks may include packaging, labeling, and filling orders within the hospital dispensary. You will be part of a pharmacy team comprised of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and assistants.

Required Qualifications:
Have successfully completed 2nd or 3rd year of Pharmacy studies at a Pharmacy school within Canada and enrolled in 3rd or 4th year of the Program. Additionally, not be deficient or failing any classes currently (transcripts may need to be provided).

Preferred Qualifications:
Being a member of CSHP is an added bonus as is desire to return to work in the North Zone or having previously worked for AHS in some capacity. Maintaining a competitive GPA within your studies is also an asset.
