Senior Manager, Canadian Business Banking Communications

Pay Details: $108,800 - $163,200 CAD

Job Description:

Corporate and Public Affairs (CAPA) delivers best-in-class external and internal communications to help differentiate TD in the market and elevate our brand. We deliver on CAPA's mission to inspire and connect our customers, communities and colleagues through communications, conversations and advocacy that enrich lives, drive business outcomes and enhance our brand.

We are looking for a seasoned, motivated communications leader to develop and execute on strategic Group Head communications, driving a thoughtful and compelling plan for the Head of Canadian Business Banking that will advance the Business Bank's narrative in a differentiated way.

The successful candidate will:

  1. Lead strategic internal and external communications planning and execution for the Group Head of Canadian Business Banking.
  2. Act as a senior relationship manager and strategic comms advisor at executive tables.
  3. Collaborate closely with partners and stakeholders to shape engagement opportunities for the Group Head; research and develop briefing documents.
  4. Demonstrate strong media relations skills, with experience in issues and crisis management.
  5. Manage complex issues and changes within Business Banking, both internal and external.
  6. Partner effectively with colleagues and business partners to understand the Bank's priorities.
  7. Develop engaging speeches, articles and thought leadership pieces that express the voice of the Group Head.
  8. Be opportunistic and proactive around topics and themes the Group Head should offer a perspective on.
  9. Manage a team focused on helping to shape and elevate the Group Head's narrative.
  10. Some evenings/weekends and travel within Canada will be required.

Desired qualifications and skills:

  1. 10-12 years of experience in communications or related field.
  2. Exceptional writing skills, with a passion for creating content that conveys a clear and relevant message.
  3. Ability to develop and implement innovative business line and executive communications plans.
  4. Strong interest in world news and broader issues and trends.
  5. Experience developing, managing, and evaluating communication vehicles.
  6. Ability to prepare and manage communication budgets.
