Junior Accountant / AP Specialist

Join this busy Squamish based business offering a long term, year round position with a salary of $55,000 – $65,000 per year, plus health and wellness benefits. Suited for a self motivated and detail-oriented bookkeeper / accounting expert with previous experience in AP.

The Perfect Candidate:

• 2 years of previous relevant work experience.
• University or college accounting degree or diploma OR equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of accounts payable procedures with a basic understanding of accounting practices.
• Ability to manage a high-volume workload, meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
• Excellent communication, problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Proficient with computers and programs like Excel, Outlook and accounting software.

Responsibilities Include

• Receive, process & verify invoices related to accounts payable.
• Update and prepare payment records for expense accounts.
• Process employee expenses.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
• Record financial transactions in accounting software.
• Reconcile bank statements.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
