Under direct supervision, the Machinist 2nd Class performs work requiring basic skills and abilities in setting up operating machine tools, fitting and assembling parts to make or repair metal parts and machines.
Because the Authority has a primary responsibility to serve the public 24 hours a day, an employee in this class is expected to work overtime as conditions demand, and may be required to accept overtime on short notice during emergency or unusual conditions and to perform essential work as assigned.

High School diploma, or equivalent, and a Certificate from a college or technical school and one (1) year of related experience and/or training in machine work.
