Training Specialist - Plant

The Training Specialist - Plant is responsible for all facets of plant-based training including the development of training materials, implementation of classroom training and tracking/updating training for the facility. This position will also create SOPs for the training of plant employees. This position actively searches, creatively designs and implements effective methods to educate and enhance performance.

• Salary range 004: 67,700$ to 84,600$ (Salary will be determined based on skills, education, training & experience related to the position).

What’s involved in this role:

1. Develop an onboarding program for new employees.
2. Work with department managers to ensure competency matrices are being developed for all employees, integrated into training needs assessments and prioritization system.
3. Work with department managers to develop a training plan for all new employees.
4. Implement a system for the development and qualification of trainers.
5. Identify opportunities that reduce losses due to skill gaps or ineffective training.
6. Make changes/updates to Standard Operating Procedures when needed.
7. Develop training and development programs and objectives for plant processes. Modify programs as needed.
8. Obtain and/or develop effective training materials utilizing a variety of media.
9. Develop tracking processes for training documentation.
10. Lead training meetings and sessions.
11. Track all training in a timely fashion, keeping this information organized and continuously up to date.
12. Ensure employees who are new to a job/position are properly trained through the facility training program - both hands-on training and classroom training.
13. Partner with managers and complete reviews with the trainee to discuss their status within the training program and future training schedule.
14. Promote a safe work environment in the facility; help improve overall safety on all shifts through proper training of SOPs.
15. Communicate important information to all employees during shift meetings.
16. Participate in company, customer, and third-party audits as needed.
17. Attend all employee meetings as well as training meetings.
18. Work effectively as a team member with other members of management and the Human Capital staff.

What you need to join our team:

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field such as: Communications, Organizational Development, Training and Development, Human Resources Management, etc. preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
• Minimum three (3) years of experience training employees in a factory required, in a food production plant preferred.
• Minimum three (3) years of writing SOPs and designing and implementing employee development programs preferred.
• Leadership experience and strong communication skills both written and verbal.
• Ability to coach, consult, diagnose root causes, and create countermeasures for problems.
• Demonstrate excellent organizational skills, establish priorities, ability to multitask, and meet deadlines.
• Ability to design, research and implement effective training and development.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision, adapt to a changing environment quickly, and think independently.
