The Economist could be based anywhere in Canada, with preference to a large urban centre such as Montreal, Toronto, or Ottawa. The Economist will have a close working relationship with the Finance and Economics team.

What you can expect to do here:
WSP Finance & Economics (F&E) team is a forward-thinking Advisory group focusing on supporting public and private infrastructure clients by providing financial and economic expertise to inform strategic decision making and to mitigate market risks through modelling and scenario planning.
- You will provide several services which are related to finance and economics, including Financial, Economics and Risk Advisory and Municipal Finance.
- Helping the team in developing economic or financial models to support our clients in their decision-making process.
- Develop and deliver business cases in line with provincial or federal guidelines.
- Support teammates in the delivery of deliverables and sustainability advice for clients.
- Build and maintain relationships with other teams within WSP Canada as well as global WSP offices.
- Develop content for successful proposals and support the overall proposal process.
- Support the growth of our economics and finance services offerings for clients.
What you’ll bring to WSP:
- Graduate Degree in Economics or Finance.
- A minimum of three years of experience in consulting related industry.
- Bilingual with excellent writing and communication skills in both English and French.
- Demonstrable track record applying economics and finance to projects.
- Strong quantitative skill analysis with proven record of modelling with Excel.
- Proficient knowledge of any statistical programming language such as Stata, Matlab, GAUSS, etc. and econometrics is preferred.
