Your résumé.
Education:
Candidates must have or be working on a Ph.D. in Economics from a recognized university. Candidates who have not yet completed their degree must have passed their comprehensive exams (micro, macro, and econometrics) and will defend their thesis by the end of December 2025.
Experience:
Candidates should have recent (acquired within the last 3 years) experience researching, at the Ph.D. level, one or more areas relevant for current research at the Department of Finance Canada including economic growth, productivity, macroeconomics, international trade, environmental economics, financial markets, monetary economics, innovation/digitization and public finance/taxation.
English or French
Abilities:
AB1. Ability to conduct high quality research.
AB2. Ability to analyze problems and identify their economic policy implications.
AB3. Ability to come up with innovative and policy-relevant research on emerging issues.
AB4. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Personal Suitability:
PS1. Interpersonal skills
PS2. Results management - ability to organize time, work and resources to accomplish objectives in the most effective and efficient way under different timeframes.
Asset Qualifications:
AQ1. Academic and/or research excellence (can be demonstrated by scholarships/awards/prizes, presenting at conferences and publications).
AQ2. Research experience with current modeling techniques.
