About the Ambulatory Cardiology Department

Mount Sinai Hospital's Ambulatory Cardiology Department provides comprehensive cardiac care, specializing in advanced diagnostic and treatment services. Our dedicated team conducts an average of 550 tests per month, serving 27 to 32 patients daily, including those with heart function issues, high-risk pregnancies, and oncology-related cardiac conditions. Our state-of-the-art facility, equipped with the latest technologies, supports exceptional patient outcomes.

In this role you will:

  • Capture and interpret echocardiographic images, providing preliminary reports for inpatients and outpatients
  • Operate and troubleshoot equipment to ensure it’s performing in an effective and efficient manner
  • Interact closely with patients, ensuring comfort and clarity throughout the echocardiography process
  • Collaborate with echo fellows and other team members to support patient care and professional development
  • Participate in impactful research initiatives to advance the field of cardiac care
  • Perform other duties consistent with the job classification, as required
Job Requirements

Job Requirements:

Mandatory

  • Registered with College of Medical Technologists of Ontario
  • Minimum 3 years of recent and related experience
  • Demonstrated maintenance of Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification

Preferred

  • Registration with the College of American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
  • Registration with Sonography Canada
  • Experience working in a teaching hospital


Skills and Knowledge

  • Demonstrated excellent patient care skills, working with both inpatients and outpatients
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills required, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member, being flexible in the delivery of care to meet patient needs
  • Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance history
