Algonquin Outfitters is looking for Cooks to join our dynamic team at the Portage Grill at Canoe Lake in Algonquin Park for the 2025 season.
Reporting to the Kitchen Manager, our Cooks support daily tasks and functions of the restaurant which include, but are not limited to:
- Following lists to prepare ingredients for menu items (i.e., measure, chop, peel, dice, slice, etc.)
- Preparation of dishes from the menu
- Setting up, sanitizing, and stocking workstations with all necessary supplies and equipment
- Stocking fridges, freezers, shelves, and display cases when shipments arrive
- Identifying to the Cooks when supplies are low
- Washing dishes by hand or using a mechanical dishwasher
What does it take to become a Cook on the AO Team?
- Experience as a cook or prep cook would be advantageous.
- Good manual dexterity allowing for safe operation of cooking tools such as knives.
- An enthusiastic, team-player mindset, with the desire to create a strong sense of teamwork and cooperation.
- The ability to take direction/follow instructions in a busy kitchen setting, seeking clarification when required.
- Staying organized and producing quality results within necessary time frames.
- Physical endurance to be on your feet for extended periods of time.
- Flexibility to work all shifts – weekends, days, evenings, and holidays.
We are open seven days a week from May through October. Shifts consist of weekends/days/nights.

Salary: $17.20 - $21.00 per hour
