ECE Assistant Nanaimo- DE-ECEA/112024

We are hiring a part-time ECE Assistant who will be assisting Lead ECEs in a multi-age group setting. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of young learners while working alongside passionate educators in a supportive environment.

Qualifications:

• A valid Early Childhood Education Assistant Certificate to practice
• A valid safety-oriented first aid certificate
• A criminal record check clearance letter
• A Doctor’s assessment of health (mental and physical) demonstrating your ability to supervise and care for children.
• Bilingual is an asset

Experience:

• No experience necessary
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• A valuable team player who has the ability to collaborate with others and create a positive work environment
• Ability to lift up to 25-30 lbs and reach children freely in the daycare setting

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the planning and implementation of daily activities that promote educational development and social skills among children
• Provide support to the lead educator in managing classroom dynamics and maintaining a positive environment
• Engage with children during activities, encouraging participation and fostering a love for learning
• Supervise children during playtime, ensuring safety and promoting cooperative play
• Assist with caregiving tasks such as meal preparation, hygiene routines, and transitions between activities
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children's progress and any concerns that may arise
• Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment, ensuring all materials are safe and accessible for children
