Story Behind the Need:

• Backfilling a spot on the team.
• Business Unit: the GTS team is responsible for the day to day Infrastructure Operations within the bank.
• Project: Lead and supervise the Department and ensure that business strategies, plans and initiatives are carried out or complied with in accordance with current internal regulations, policies and procedures.

Typical Day in Role:

• Lead and drive a customer-centric culture for the entire team in order to deepen customer relationships and take advantage of the Bank’s extensive relationships, as well as its systems and knowledge.
• Responsible for providing induction to the position to each new contributor to the team, providing general information about the GFSBI, as well as explaining its job description, key roles and objectives in order for the collaborator to place their role within the GFSBI by strengthening their sense of belonging and reduce the time of the learning curve.
• Understands the Bank’s risk culture and how risk appetite should be considered in daily activities and decisions.
• Creates an environment where your team performs efficient and effective operations in their respective areas, while ensuring compliance and effectiveness of daily business controls in order to comply with obligations aimed at reducing operational risk, regulatory noncompliance, money laundering and conduct risk.
• Promotes a high-performance environment and implements a strategy for the workforce that attracts, retains, develops and motivates your team, fostering an inclusive work environment, communicating vision, values and business strategy, and managing a succession and development plan for the team.

Candidate Requirements/Must-Have skills:

• 5+ years of hands-on Technical Analyst experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on technical working experience in the installation, configuration and maintenance of IBM i hardware, software, networked devices as well as System i Access Client Solution.
• 5+ years of hands-on technical working experience in the administration of LPARs.
• 5+ years of hands-on technical working experience in the load and test of the operating system and application software releases in development/test and production environments; as well as Load / Apply / Validate system software patches.
• You must have knowledge of following software used on iSeries: Websphere MQ, BRMS, CMOD (Content Manager Ondemand), CL programming language, Performance navigator, as well as 3rd party software: GoAnywhere, PKZIP, Connect Direct, Robot Scheduler, Robot Report, Halcyon software, MIMIX.

Nice to Have:

• Prior Financial Institution Experience.
• Project Management experience.

Soft Skills:

• Strong Analytical Mindset.
• Stakeholder communication experience.
• Time Management Experience.

Education:

• Completed a post-secondary education in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent.

Best vs Average:

• The ideal candidate would be willing to develop, document and maintain procedures for system utilities, such as performance tuning and configuration of environments, as required.
• Ideally they are detail oriented, proactive, and have an eagerness to learn in an agile environment.

Candidate Review & Selection:

• Initial 1st round interview – hiring manager (1 hour).
• 2nd round interview – 45 minutes to an hour.
