This position manages a medical device sales territory for Teleflex's Anesthesia and Emergency Medicine business in the Canadian market, which includes anesthesia and emergency medicine accounts in assigned geographies of Montreal Island and Ottawa Region. The medical device products sold in the business include: Teleflex’s portfolio of emergency medicine (hemostatic dressings and pelvic stabilization), airway (laryngeal mask airways, laryngoscopes, endotracheal tubes), pain management (epidurals, peripheral nerve block catheters and needles) and vascular access (intraosseous access) products.
This position prospects and executes against new business opportunities to exceed revenue targets, thereby growing overall market share and increasing utilization among existing accounts, while securing new users within the geography. The Sales Representative acts as a valuable resource to those involved in emergency medical procedures and facilitates improved patient care while increasing clinical value to medical professionals and Teleflex Incorporated.
The incumbent in this position implements sales plans and achieves sales goals and objectives through the development of multi-level relationships within hospitals, pre-hospital, military and EMS providers. This position achieves sales goals through interface with clinicians -- particularly surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurse anesthesiologists, paramedics, members of the surgical team and various health care professionals in operating rooms, EMS groups and surgical centers, as well as hospital administration and procurement teams. Reporting to a Country Manager, this role ensures the maximization of territory sales, profitability, and future business opportunities.
A bachelor's degree is required, along with 2-6 years acute care sales experience. An MBA is a plus. Prior sales experience would ideally include medical device sales experience selling to hospital, surgical centers and clinics.
Experience within the Montreal region, CAG, HealthPro and Medbuy is preferred. Experience with EMS services is preferred.
Self-directed, able to work independently and ability to handle multiple projects concurrently & function in a fast paced, high growth environment. Excellent organizational skills, analytical skills, problem solving skills, and strong communicative and interpersonal skills required.
Proficiency with computer technology, Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SFDC and Power BI, including IPhone and IPad platforms. Ability to handle difficult conversations/situations along with excellent customer service and presentation skills.
Clinically knowledgeable -- with a history of utilizing basic A&P as a major part of driving a sale forward. Strong understanding and grasp of market analysis, planning, development and management. Excellent time management and decision making skills. Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority. Full clean driving license.
Carry detail bag weighing up to 20 lbs. Lift equipment weighing up to 30 lbs. Be standing or walking in or at meetings for 6 - 10 hours per day, up to five (5) days per week. Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and through writing with a variety of call points with the pre-hospital and acute care hospital market. Strong clinical knowledge. Ability to have high level conversations with emergency medicine customers regarding products, procedures and industry trends. Strong analytical skills and a sound business acumen.
