About the Role:
Reporting to the Manager, Infrastructure Services, this role has primary responsibility to ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the 24x7 IT Infrastructure hardware and services that support core organizational functions.

The Technical Analyst’s role is to design, install, administer, operate, and optimize company systems and related components to achieve high performance of the various business applications supported by tuning the systems as necessary. This includes ensuring the availability of client/server applications, configuring all new implementations, and developing processes and procedures for ongoing management of the systems environment. Where applicable, the Technical Analyst will assist in overseeing the security, integrity, and safety of the Azure Cloud and managed data center/server farm.

Your Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage enterprise directory services and supporting server infrastructure, including accounts, permissions, access rights, and storage allocations in accordance with best practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.
  • Design, install, configure, manage, and monitor core infrastructure services running on Windows and Linux Operating System, both in Azure and on-premise VMware hypervisor.
  • Perform system configuration and management; define and perform server backups and recovery procedures.
  • Plan and implement system upgrades, Windows Operating systems, upgrades, maintenance fixes, and vendor-supplied patches.
  • Monitor and test system performance and provide performance statistics and reports.
  • Recommend and execute modifications to system environment to improve efficiency, reliability, and performance.
  • Support and maintain data center/server room processes and procedures.
  • Anticipate, mitigate, identify, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software problems on systems. Escalate incidents as necessary.
  • Develop and maintain training materials and server documentation, including system configuration, procedure, and processes.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with other teams to ensure availability, reliability, and scalability of corporate servers to meet business demands.
  • Establish, implement, and comply with policies, procedures, and technologies.
  • Act as project lead in the design and review of new systems, applications, and hardware; conduct capacity planning as needed.
  • Conduct research on systems, software, protocols, standards, and best practices in support of procurement and development efforts.
  • Practice asset management, including maintenance of system component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.
  • Support application development teams throughout project lifecycle.

Your Requirements:

  • University degree or college diploma in the field of computer science and/or 5+ years of equivalent IT experience.
  • Extensive experience and hands-on experience with Azure: Entra ID, Condition Access, Single-Sign-On and MFA configuration.
  • Strong knowledge of Automation with tools like: PowerShell and Ansible.
  • 5+ years experience managing Active Directory: users, groups and GPOs.
  • 5+ years experience in a Technical Analyst position responsible for managing server, storage and backup environments.
  • 5+ years experience with software and hardware troubleshooting.
  • 5+ years experience with server patching. SCCM patching experience an asset.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Windows Server, Linux Server, VMware, and File (DFS, NFS, and CIFS) services.
  • Strong experience with backups and recovery procedures. Experience with Rubrik backup an asset.
  • Experience with server management, monitoring, and performance tuning tools. Hands-on experience with SCCM, SCOM an asset.
  • Good knowledge of storage technologies such as SAN or NAS.
  • Good understanding of: TCP/IP, Ethernet, DNS, DHCP, WINS, MS IIS, and FTP/SFTP.
  • Experience with other enterprise applications like SQL, Exchange, SharePoint, Citrix an asset.
  • Datacenter/Server Room cabling (Copper and/or Fibre) knowledge an asset.
  • Experience within the financial services industry an asset.
  • Some travel required to our datacenters in the Greater Toronto Area.
  • Microsoft Azure Cloud certification, VMware certification an asset.
