Our team is seeking a skilled Accountant for a 12-month contract, who is proactive, detail-oriented, and passionate about accounting. In this role, you’ll work closely with our CFO and contribute to the firm’s financial health through accurate reporting, effective internal controls, and process improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly financial statements, variance analyses, and key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Responsible for payroll processing, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close
  • Maintain internal controls, ensure GAAP compliance, and manage GST/HST returns
  • Support budgeting, financial reporting, and research on accounting standards
  • Assist with annual audits, AP/AR, and special projects with the CFO

What You’ll Bring:

  • Experience & Knowledge: Extensive accounting experience, ideally within a law firm or professional services environment. Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial compliance.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex financial data, interpret trends, and make recommendations to support business goals.
  • Attention to Detail: Proven accuracy and thoroughness in financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate across departments.
  • Problem-Solving Orientation: Proactive approach to identifying issues and recommending solutions that improve processes and support the firm’s financial strategy.
