Job description

Our client is one of the largest general contractors in northern British Columbia, headquartered in Prince George, BC. With satellite offices in various communities across BC, this contractor provides a wide range of construction services, including heavy civil and infrastructure, commercial, residential, public and institutional, industrial, energy, mining, and safety services. The business is responsible for completing over 350 projects annually and operates with a fleet of 400+ modern heavy equipment and a workforce of nearly 1,000 skilled professionals. The company is renowned for its industry-leading safety culture, strong bonding capacity, and commitment to quality and client service, ensuring successful project delivery across diverse locations.

As a Project Manager, you will play a crucial role in the Infrastructure division, which includes dams, highways, runways, and bridges projects. This will be a 20 day on and 10 day off rotation position. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure (MOTI) projects and be adept at handling financials, contracts, and stakeholder management. You will work closely with the Director of Civil and the President, overseeing all aspects of preconstruction from initial pursuit to project execution.

In this role, you will manage MOTI projects from initiation to completion, overseeing project scheduling using MS Project, and be involved in preparing and managing project estimates. You will ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget, while coordinating with stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, and government agencies.

Our client requires a minimum of 5-10 years of Project Management experience, with proven experience in managing MOTI contracts and projects. Proficiency in MS Project for scheduling, and knowledge of construction costs and budgets are essential. Excellent communication and leadership abilities are a must. A formal education in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent construction programs is favorable. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, solutions-oriented leader with high attention to detail.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a rapidly expanding operation that will provide the successful candidate the chance for career advancement. You will be given the chance to work in a role that involves all aspects of preconstruction and will be a direct route to becoming a Director of Infrastructure in the future. You will be rewarded for your hard work with a competitive base salary, a living away allowance, and a comprehensive benefits plan that will include a bonus.
