Seeking An Executive Director

Seeking Executive Director to lead a land trust primarily serving Mountain View County. You will be the key operational member of a team currently consisting of administrative support and a working Board of Directors who will work closely with and support you.

Legacy Land Trust Society (LLTS) is entering its 12th year of operation and currently stewards more than 3,400 acres of ecologically valuable land under conservation easements. LLTS is committed to helping landowners conserve their land their way.

Responsibilities:

  1. Interfacing with both existing and potential conservation easement donors.
  2. Identifying new conservation easement candidates.
  3. Developing and executing fundraising opportunities.

Qualifications:

  1. Experience as an Executive Director.
  2. Possess an ecology or equivalent degree or diploma.
  3. An understanding of conservation easements.
  4. Experience in project and financial management.
  5. Self-motivated, entrepreneurial, and passionate about making a career in conservation.
  6. Strong interpersonal skills and enjoy meeting and working with landowners to help them realize their conservation goals.

We will provide a competitive salary and paid vacation based on education and experience.

The LLTS office is in Olds, Alberta. You will be required to spend time in the office as well as in the field. However, a hybrid arrangement including working at home will be considered.
