Extruder Operator

The Extruder Operator is responsible for set up and running the Blown Film Extruder, producing collation shrink wrap for both internal and external customers.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Safely operate (1) 5 layer extrusion system for duration of shift.
2. Maintain high quality level through inspections.
3. Check the size, gauge, serrations, and tension continuously throughout shift.
4. Thread and begin operation of equipment at the beginning of the shift and properly shut down and clean up during the final shift.
5. Assure proper resin mixes and reload silos as required.
6. Handle rolling of semi-finished and finished goods with safe height manual stacking and forklift use.
7. Follow production schedule and adjust slitters and bubble as required to reduce trimming.
8. Oversee and operate internal recycling system to utilize all clean scraps.
9. Complete all required paperwork.
10. Maintain a clean and tidy 5S workspace.

The successful Extruder Operator will:

1. Have two plus years’ experience operating blown film extruders. Flexographic printing experience preferred.
2. Have good written and verbal communication skills and cooperate with peers and supervisor.
3. Be capable of lifting 60lb loads.
4. Have two plus years forklift experience.

Salary Range: $70-75k
