Journeyman Plumber - New Construction and Retrofits

Our client is a non-union mechanical contractor that is highly respected across the Ontario market. This team is looking to add a licensed Journeyman Plumber that is capable of being the designated lead on a small new construction project. This position coordinates with Apprentices, other Journeypersons, and Field Managers on a daily basis.

Skills & Qualifications:

  1. Licensing / Red Seal in their specific trade and a member in “Good Standing” within their trade organization
  2. Valid Driver’s License and Driver’s Abstract in good standing
  3. Demonstrate the ability to lead a project and crew of 2 personnel
  4. Completion of required supervisory training
  5. ISO/Quality Training

Responsibilities:

  1. Support the needs of the project as identified by their supervisor
  2. Ensure the requirements of company policies are being followed
  3. Proactively continue to learn and understand the requirements of Health and Safety legislation and other company health and safety policies
  4. Duties will include, but are not limited to, plumbing, pipe fitting, cutting, coring, digging and trenching, measuring, layout, paperwork, and other similar tasks
  5. Responsible for other field duties as requested by their superior, which can include items such as housekeeping, caulking, filing, organizing, receiving, material delivery to the work areas, etc.
  6. Familiar with all aspects of special projects and will be proactive, acting to warn or rectify any unsafe conditions or project activities not progressing according to plan
  7. Will develop Apprentices and/or Journeypersons in a manner consistent with the team's policies and processes
  8. Will coordinate site activities on assigned projects
  9. Will ensure all necessary administrative functions are completed
  10. Punctual and flexible with respect to client requirements
  11. Work with and maintain positive working relationships with fellow employees, management, and any other trades and authorities
  12. Conduct site investigations and support in the creation of an estimate
  13. Perform other duties as required
