The Ministry of Trade and Export Development (TED) has an exciting opportunity to contribute to the Government of Saskatchewan’s international office network. As a key member of the International Offices Branch, you will join a team dedicated to advancing Saskatchewan’s growth objectives on the global stage.

The International Offices Branch is seeking a team-oriented International Engagement Specialist. Reporting to the Manager, International Offices, this role will contribute directly to the success of Saskatchewan’s international offices by supporting program development, project coordination, and internal stakeholder engagement.

Our successful candidate will be expected to lead by example and demonstrate the value of ‘one team’ in their work. To be successful in the role, the candidate will need to navigate new challenges, embrace a fast-paced work environment, and be ready to roll up their sleeves with a team of diverse, international professionals.

The International Engagement Specialist will support the international office network by:

  1. Conducting research and analysis to support the advancement of strategic plans and programming initiatives.
  2. Implementing and maintaining effective communication channels between the international offices and Saskatchewan headquarters.
  3. Collaborating with the international offices on the preparation of materials.
  4. Preparing information, advice, and recommendations for senior leaders.
  5. Sharing a strong understanding of Saskatchewan’s international value proposition, with the ability to translate it into effective strategies for communication and engagement.
  6. Undertaking other projects and tasks as assigned to support the advancement of international priorities.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  1. Strong critical thinking and the ability to initiate and drive time-sensitive projects from concept to completion.
  2. Talent in building and maintaining relationships, while demonstrating cultural diplomacy.
  3. The desire to embrace change and navigate through ambiguity.
  4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate complex information and ideas in a variety of formats to a range of audiences.
  5. The ability to handle multiple competing projects at the same time, balance priorities, and communicate status to relevant stakeholders.

Typically, the knowledge and skills required to be successful in this position would be attained through the completion of an undergraduate degree in a related field. A combination of education and relevant work experience will also be considered.

Hours of Work: B - SGEU Field 37.33 - one day off every three weeks
