Automotive Service Technician Apprentice

Job Summary
We are seeking a first year or second year Automotive Service Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience in automotive repair. This role requires proficiency in using hand tools, understanding schematics, and performing heavy lifting as necessary. The Automotive Technician will be responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing vehicles to ensure optimal performance and safety.

Duties

1. Perform routine maintenance and repairs on various types of vehicles.
2. Diagnose issues using diagnostic equipment and schematics to identify necessary repairs.
3. Assemble and disassemble vehicle components as needed for repair or replacement.
4. Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to complete repairs.
5. Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to ensure compliance with safety standards.
6. Maintain accurate records of work performed on each vehicle.
7. Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot complex automotive issues.
8. Weld components when necessary to restore vehicle integrity.
9. Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding vehicle status and repair needs.

Requirements

1. Proven experience as an Automotive Technician or Mechanic.
2. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to understand complex systems and schematics.
3. Proficient in the use of hand tools and diagnostic equipment related to automotive repair.
4. Ability to perform heavy lifting as required during the repair process.
5. Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
6. Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
7. A valid driver's license is required (drivers abstract required); additional certifications are a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00-$28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
