Legacy Assets is made up of 25 historic sites in Canada and the United States that were acquired largely through corporate mergers and acquisitions close to or after their closure. At our legacy sites, we undertake a range of activities that seek to ensure that we operate in a safe, responsible, and sustainable manner. Some of the key activities we carry out include: tailings and water management; risk mitigation; technical studies; closure and remediation projects, and general site care and maintenance.
The role is co-located with the Jansen project in Saskatchewan, Canada. Jansen is set to become one of the largest potash mines in the world and is located approximately 140 kilometres east of Saskatoon. BHP’s CAD$14 billion (US$10.5 billion) investment in the Jansen project will deliver a potash mine in Saskatchewan designed to maximize sustainability.
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Manager for our Canadian Legacy Assets sites. This role is crucial for managing all aspects of site operations, regulatory compliance, maintenance, contract management, safety, and security. You will be a key stakeholder in strategy development, long-term closure plans, and remediation projects.
Downtown, Saskatoon office. 40 hours per week. Travel required to sites in Vancouver, Quebec, Ontario, and British Columbia, with stakeholders in Arizona. Estimated 10 trips per year. Hybrid working (flexible, shared workstations and a combination of office and work from home) is standard for BHP.
