Job purpose

You'll be at the forefront of our seasonal hiring process across diverse regions and programs. From eye-catching job postings to engaging interviews and seamless onboarding, you’ll be creating an unforgettable employee experience.

Duties and responsibilities

Recruitment (January – August)

  • Responsible for hiring seasonal positions in the assigned region(s), including generating job postings, sourcing, interviewing, and assessment.
  • Creatively identifying sources for candidates including referrals, job postings, external job boards, career fairs, educational institutions, associations, networking, and social media.
  • Creates engaging job descriptions, job postings, and interview questions.
  • Conducts group info sessions and one-on-one interviews by providing an exceptional Pedalheads employee experience.
  • Uses Applicant Tracking System to communicate with candidates and issue contracts.
  • Be a lead user of the ADP recruitment module to set up templates, troubleshoot, and answer questions from seasonal hiring teams.
  • Updates hiring metrics and stays on top of deadlines.
  • Answers hiring or staff related inquiries from regional teams.
  • Works with Camp Managers during summer with staff scheduling issues, helping to source instructions when required.
  • Works with Manager, Talent Acquisition on assigned projects, future planning, processes.
  • Be a lead hiring resource for assigned regions:
    • Set up job postings.
    • Coordinate school visits.
    • Interview early candidates in assigned regions (including group info sessions).
    • Contact returning staff and issue contracts.
    • Execute keeping warm strategy, ongoing engagement with seasonal staff.

Summer Duties (June-August)

  • Supports Camp Managers with staff scheduling.
  • Reviews labour efficiency reports to ensure camps are not overstaffed.
  • Assists regional teams with camp related duties: site support, equipment, training support.
  • Be the expert on ADP recruitment, time and attendance and scheduling.
  • Answering questions from Camp Managers regarding staffing, ADP, employee issues, etc.

Onboarding/Offboarding

  • Prepare and manage all onboarding documents, staff lists, and training dates.
  • Enters employee information into ADP WorkforceNow.

Co-op/Internships

  • Works with local universities/colleges to build a co-op/internship program for seasonal roles.
  • Networks and maintain relationships with college/university/high school counselors for hiring events, co-op/internship programs.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years work experience in hiring/recruitment.
  • Experience hiring youths 16-24 and high-volume recruitment an asset.
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or relevant field. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Knowledge of sourcing techniques on social media and niche professional websites like LinkedIn, Facebook.
  • Familiarity with applicant tracking systems, particularly ADP Workforce Now an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Good written and verbal communications skills.
  • Highly organized with demonstrated ability to prioritize and complete projects within tight deadlines.
  • Must be competent with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Working hours

You will be working 40 hour weeks - primarily Monday - Friday. During busy seasons (Spring Break and Summer), you will be required to be flexible to adjust your days to work on Sundays (days in lieu during the week). You will be expected to work out of a home office, with occasional in-person events (hiring fairs, visiting high-schools, etc.).

Direct reports

The Recruitment Coordinator will not have any direct reports but will be a resource to their assigned region's hiring teams.
