Senior Commercial Auto Underwriter

We have a fantastic full-time opportunity in Commercial Lines for an Automobile Underwriter at Aviva. If you have a passion for customer service, an affinity for technical underwriting and the desire to be part of a dynamic hybrid team environment in our London Branch, we want to hear from you!

What You’ll Do:

1. Assess and evaluate risk for new and existing business.
2. Assist and mentor more junior underwriters with applying corporate underwriting standards and share knowledge and skills with others in the branch.
3. Analyze reports to determine adequate exposure and loss rating.
4. Maintain awareness of market trends, pricing levels and policy form amendments.
5. Negotiate renewal terms for the retention of business.
6. Utilize loss control and risk management practices in the underwriting process.
7. Respond to inquiries from brokers regarding modification to policy files in a prompt and efficient manner.
8. Work with brokers to develop new business.
9. Develop and maintain excellent broker relationships and management of assigned broker portfolio.

What You’ll Bring:

1. 5-10 years of commercial auto underwriting experience.
2. CIP is preferred.
3. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
4. Strong organizational and administration skills.
5. Highly motivated and enthusiastic.
6. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
7. Ability to meet challenging deadlines and perform effectively under pressure.
8. Knowledge of RTM system is an asset.

2. The salary band for this position ranges from $54,500 to $101,100. Please note that individual salary is determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experience, as well as internal equity.
