Job Title: Pastry Chef

Established in 1873, The Royal Montreal Golf Club is North America's oldest golf club and a distinguished private golf club with a rich history of excellence and tradition. We are dedicated to delivering unparalleled experiences to our 1500 members and guests, both on the golf course and within our 90,000 square foot Clubhouse.

Position Profile:

We are looking for a creative and dedicated Pastry Chef to oversee the planning and preparation of pastries, desserts, and assorted confections. Reporting to the Executive Chef and Sous-Chef, the Pastry Chef will take on a leadership role within the team, ensuring excellence in quality and presentation while adhering to the Club’s standards.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  1. Prepare recipes or fulfill special orders as requested.
  2. Develop or select recipes to meet the Club’s standards of quality and creativity.
  3. Act as a leader by providing guidance and training to team members.
  4. Identify necessary ingredients and determine required quantities.
  5. Bake, ice, and decorate desserts to achieve optimal presentation and taste.
  6. Order food items and supplies as needed, ensuring inventory is well-stocked.
  7. Manage inventory effectively to maintain quality, minimize waste, and reduce losses.
  8. Ensure all products meet the required quality standards.
  9. Uphold food safety by strictly adhering to hygiene and sanitation regulations.
  10. Maintain a clean and organized workspace, tools, and equipment.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Certificate in Pastry Arts or a related field.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring high-quality presentation and consistency.
  • Proven experience in leading and mentoring a team in a professional kitchen environment.
  • Extensive experience in gourmet cuisine with a focus on refined pastry and dessert preparation.
  • Demonstrated ability to efficiently manage service for large-scale banquets and events.
  • Previous experience in a Pastry Chef role, showcasing strong technical skills and creativity.

Experience:

  • Baking: 3 years (preferred).
