We are currently expanding and looking to add a motivated individual to our team based out of Calgary.

Responsibilities:

1. Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
2. Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, report variances and initiate corrective action.
3. Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
4. Coordinate and prepare aspects of financial reporting.
5. Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
6. Support month-end and year-end close process.
7. Generate the lease accounting schedules and review for accuracy.
8. Support month-end and year-end close processes for leases and restructuring and prepare reconciliations for related balance sheet accounts.
9. Accounting for lease terminations and modifications, as well as sublease accounting.
10. Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
11. Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
12. Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
13. Manage fixed asset schedules, acquisitions, disposals, calculate gain/loss on disposals.
14. Reconcile intra-company transactions on a weekly/monthly basis.
15. Coordinate with AR, AP, billing, reconciliations, and equipment leasing teams.
16. Coordinate with banks on ad hoc queries and understand requirements for bank reporting.

Requirements:

1. Proven working experience as a Controller.
2. 5+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience.
3. Advanced degree in Accounting.
4. CPA or CMA preferred.
5. Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
6. Experience with creating financial statements.
7. Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
8. Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
