The Town of Coaldale is looking for positive, energetic individuals to fill various Lifeguard positions for the summer months. Lifeguards are responsible for ensuring the safety of all swimmers and visitors by monitoring pool activities, enforcing safety rules, and responding to emergencies. This role includes providing first aid when necessary, maintaining a clean and safe pool environment, and assisting with swimming lessons or other aquatic programs as required.
Wage: $18.22-$18.97 per hour
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Learn computer software for entering swim lesson requests, setting up accounts, and managing swim passes.
Appropriately plan and deliver Lifesaving Society swimming lessons.
Maintain persistent surveillance of patrons in the facility and act immediately and appropriately in the event of an emergency.
Demonstrate a high level of professionalism, customer service, and excellent interpersonal skills.
Perform other duties as required, including various maintenance duties, janitorial/cleaning requirements, and other miscellaneous job-related duties when not guarding.
Requirements:
Minimum 16 years of age, plus current Standard First Aid/ CPR/ AED training, NLS, and Swim for Life Instructor.
Outstanding customer service work ethic.
Approachable, optimistic, and confident.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Ability to work with children and youth.
Must plan appropriate lesson plans and instruct swimming lessons.
