Purpose and Scope of Job:

The Sr. Events Manager for World Pediatrics St. Louis is a strategic role focused on maximizing the impact and reach of the organization’s fundraising events, particularly the Emerging Leaders Board and Rock ‘n Heal. This position requires close collaboration with the VP of Development St. Louis and the entire Development Team to align event strategies with overall fundraising goals and brand messaging.

By working closely with the St. Louis team, the Sr. Events Manager will ensure that events are seamlessly integrated into the organization’s broader fundraising efforts and effectively communicate the impact of our organization’s work. This role will be instrumental in cultivating new and younger donors, fostering a sense of community, and ultimately driving increased philanthropic support for our mission.

Essential Functions:

  1. Rock n Heal Event & Third-Party Events Execution:
    1. Lead and grow the Rock n Heal and third-party events, with an annual revenue target of $210,000 in the first year.
    2. Support WP’s strategic goals by executing these events to strengthen WP’s presence among new and young donors.
    3. Oversee the Emerging Leaders Board Oversight:
      1. Work with members to ensure their help to run an effective Rock n Heal event.
      2. Build a board that provides support with the strategic growth of the Rock n Heal event.
    4. Lead Third Party Events and Activities:
      1. Lead and grow Third Party Events with an annual support goal of $40,000. Key Third party events include 12 Bars of Charity.
      2. Support for Key Special Events:
        1. Assist the Vice President of Development in sponsor solicitation, securing auction items, and driving ticket and raffle sales for Golf for the Kids and Treasures in Paradise events.
        2. Assist in working with committees, other staff in supporting these key events.
    5. Event Committee Involvement:
      1. Lead the Emerging Leaders Board (ELB) meetings, assist in agenda creation with the ELB Chairs, record notes/minutes, facilitate clear communications and action plans.
      2. Attend event committee meetings, assist in creating content, and record notes/minutes to facilitate clear communication and action plans.
    6. Auction Software Management (GiveSmart):
      1. Maintain accuracy and functionality within GiveSmart for event management, including:
        1. Regular donor data entry and updates – coordinate any new data to DonorPerfect to the Development Coordinator.
        2. Event registration setup, auction item entries, and detailed reporting.
    7. Marketing Collateral & Social Media Content:
      1. Help create marketing collateral for events using tools like Canva and support social media content creation in collaboration with the Director of Marketing for all St. Louis events.
      2. Marketing & Development Initiatives:
        1. Collaborate with the WP Development team to implement initiatives that engage new supporters and strengthen WP’s presence in the community.

    In this role, the Sr. Events Manager combines event management, strategic marketing, and donor engagement to drive WP’s fundraising goals and broaden its mission impact in St. Louis.

    Non-Essential Functions:

    1. Participate with all staff in organization-wide activities/functions/events.
    2. This position will also help lead any intern(s) that may be brought on to support the St. Louis Development efforts.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    1. 5 years or more related experience and demonstrated success with fundraising event management or comparable experience in corporate sales, appointment setting, and goal-oriented sales measurements.
    2. Strong writing and interpersonal communication skills.
    3. Proven success and willingness to initiate cold and warm contacts with current WPP contributors and potential new contributors.
    4. Bachelor’s Degree required.
    5. Valid Driver’s License.
    6. Thrives in an entrepreneurial environment where goals and activity toward those goals are set and measured.
    7. Drive to set and achieve ambitious goals.
    8. Enjoys a team environment.
    9. Experience partnering with volunteers to achieve results.
    10. Comfortable with, and an aptitude for multi-tasking.
    11. Attention to detail, self-starter.
    12. Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

    Physical Requirements:

    1. Must be able to drive on a regular basis; must have and maintain a safe driving record.
    2. Must be able to lift 30 pounds without assistance.

    Work Environment:

    1. Office setting with out-of-office work required for specific projects.
    2. Combination of required in-office and remote work schedule.
    3. Collaboration required with colleagues in-office and via remote platforms.
