Electrical Journeymen Service Technicians Location: Edmonton, AB (with extensive travel)
Are you an experienced Electrical Journeyman Service Technician with expertise in fire alarm systems inspection, testing, and repairs? Do you enjoy travel and combining technical skills with excellent customer service? If so, we want to hear from you!
At Allied Projects, we are seeking service technicians who are not only skilled in electrical and life safety systems but are also open to extensive travel. In this role, you will service clients across various locations, including remote and government facilities, where security clearances are required. You will primarily focus on life safety system inspections and repairs, while managing diverse client needs and adapting quickly to changing priorities.

Key Responsibilities:
- Fire Alarm System Inspections and Repairs: Perform inspections, testing, troubleshooting, and repairs on fire alarm and life safety systems at various client sites, including those in remote locations.
- Customer Service: Build strong relationships with clients, providing clear communication and maintaining professionalism while working in occupied facilities.
- Travel: Frequent travel to multiple job sites within and outside the Calgary area, often including overnight stays.
- Team Leadership: Lead or assist in managing small teams, as needed, while adhering to project timelines and safety protocols.
- Technical Expertise: Interpret blueprints and electrical drawings, ensuring compliance with all codes and standards.
- Problem-Solving: Efficiently troubleshoot and resolve issues with life safety and electrical systems in commercial and government settings.
Requirements:
- Journeyman/Journeywoman Electrician certification.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in life safety system inspections and testing (preferred).
- CFAA Certification (preferred).
- Clean Driver’s Abstract and ability to pass security clearance screenings.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the region, including remote locations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of electrical standards and codes.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage parts/supplies efficiently.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to embrace new innovations, processes, and procedures.
- Comfortable working in occupied facilities with professionalism and respect.
- Availability to work overtime, including frequent overnight travel.
