About the Job:

The Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse:

  1. Provides nursing care to psychiatric patients, both by working independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
  2. Enhances quality of life for the patient and family; consults, confers, and collaborates with other health care providers.
  3. Demonstrates continuous improvement and evidence based practice in nursing practice.
  4. Maintains and advances own clinical competence.
  5. Participates on designated hospital committees/teams and approved research projects as assigned.

Our typical nursing schedules are based on 12 hour shifts and include Days and Nights with rotating days off.

Qualifications
  1. Graduation from an approved School of Nursing.
  2. Current practicing registration with British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  3. Two years’ recent related experience in a mental health and addictions environment; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
