Grande Yellowhead Public School Division is inviting applications for the Temporary Position of Mental Health Capacity Building (B.E.S.T.) Wellness/Success Coach in Jasper, AB. Duties will commence immediately and continue until March 19, 2026, or upon the return of the incumbent, whichever happens sooner.

Job Details:
Pay: $3,366–$4,583 a month
Job Type: Full-time, Contract, Fixed term contract
Location: Jasper, AB
Hours of Work: 0.7 FTE
Competition will remain open until: October 1, 2024, until noon, 12:00pm.

Job Summary and Core Competencies:
The MHCB Success Coach reports to the MHCB Program Manager and provides addiction and mental health promotion and prevention to children, youth, and families through Tier 1 universal programming. This position develops and delivers developmentally appropriate, evidence-based programming that meets the objectives of the MHCB initiative. Responsibilities include:

  1. Delivering programming in schools and community settings.
  2. Working with school staff, parents, and community members to increase knowledge and skills related to mental health and illness issues.
  3. Identifying and facilitating access for individuals needing referrals to specialized addiction and mental health services.
  4. Ensuring compliance with HIA (Health Information Act) and FOIPP.
  5. Assisting with evaluation activities and survey data collection as required by AHS.

Qualifications and Work Experience:
The ideal candidate will have:

  1. A related post-secondary degree or diploma in social sciences (preferred).
  2. At least 2 years of working experience in addiction and mental health or health/human services (experience as a practicum student considered).
  3. Knowledge of addiction and mental health services.
  4. Experience with delivering programming and public speaking.
  5. Strong relationship-building and effective time management skills.
  6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

All employees must provide a criminal record check. Regulated health professions must provide proof of licensure or registration with the approved Alberta regulatory college prior to commencing duties.
