Senior Python Developer & Team Lead

We are seeking a Senior Python Developer & Lead to join our team and contribute to a high-impact application development project. The ideal candidate will be a strong hands-on Python Application Developer with experience working in embedded environments. Additionally, this role requires team leadership expertise, as you will be responsible for guiding development processes, implementing best practices, and conducting code reviews.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of developers, ensuring best practices and coding standards are followed
• Design, develop, and maintain robust Python applications
• Work within embedded systems environments (highly desirable)
• Conduct code reviews and mentor junior team members
• Drive process improvements and establish best practices in software development
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
• Occasionally attend on-site meetings in Ottawa as needed

Required Skills/Experience

• 5+ years of professional Python application development experience
• Experience working in embedded systems environments (strong asset)
• Team leadership experience, including mentoring and guiding development teams
• Strong understanding of software development best practices and methodologies
• Experience with code reviews, process improvement, and technical leadership
• Familiarity with cloud-based development (AWS, Azure, etc.) is a plus
• Must hold or be eligible for Enhanced Reliability Clearance
