Site Superintendent - Concrete Towers

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Site Superintendent to support the delivery of a concrete tower development project in the Burnaby area.

Role Description

You will have the opportunity to assist in managing site operations of all phases on a concrete tower development project, including employees, subcontractors, materials and equipment, ensuring that specifications are being followed, and work is proceeding with quality, on schedule and within budget. This is a multi-phase project consisting of several buildings that is being planned out over a long-term timeline.

Responsibilities

1. Leading subcontractors and trades in daily work, ensuring compliance with project schedule.
2. Site start-up, organize and coordinate subcontractors.
3. Ensure all work is done following safety guidelines.
4. Ensure that safe work practices and procedures are being followed onsite at all times.
5. Assist in preparation, review, and taking action on all RFIs.
6. Ensure accurate and timely project close date; adjust working schedules to ensure deadlines are met.
7. Work with the Construction Project Manager to resolve any constructional issues that may arise.
8. Ensure proper materials and quantities of materials are onsite prior to daily work commencing.
9. Lead project meetings with internal and external parties to monitor and report on progression of building.
10. Supervise workers onsite; provide feedback to workers, enforce company policy and administer disciplinary measures as required.
11. Identify and resolve conflicts within project teams and associated work; create contingency plans to mitigate risk.
12. Oversee total construction effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule.
13. Develop, monitor and oversee quality control measures on worksites.
14. Ensure building inspections are completed periodically throughout the construction phases to ensure buildings meet specifications of clients.

Skills and Requirements

1. Experience as a Superintendent on a concrete tower development.
2. Ability and proven experience working on projects from start to finish.
3. Effectiveness in the areas of construction safety and productivity.
4. Strong communication, integration, problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
5. Dedication to health and safety in the workplace.
6. Superior leadership qualities with a demonstrated track record of dealing successfully with internal and external customers.
7. Results-oriented with the ability to interpret and effectively manage multiple and competing priorities and timelines.
8. Possess a valid driver's license.
