Job description

Position Summary

The Maintenance Millwright is responsible for keeping all equipment running in good working order through preventative maintenance and repair.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Responsible for installing, inspecting, adjusting, and repairing equipment while following all safety rules and regulations.
  2. Maintain all equipment to required standards and be responsive to production needs and equipment failures.
  3. Work as part of a team and independently while maintaining high levels of accuracy and safety while performing job duties.
  4. Perform daily inspections of equipment, filling out inspection sheets and making note of any items needing repair.
  5. Perform routine preventative maintenance on equipment.
  6. Assist electricians with machine repairs as required.
  7. Perform routine maintenance on building systems.
  8. Install new equipment as needed.
  9. Rebuild hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders.
  10. Fabricate various fixtures as required.
  11. Troubleshoot failed equipment.
  12. Replace various items such as blown fuses, hydraulic pumps, drive belts, saw blades, motor couplings, etc. as required.
  13. Use milling machines and lathes as required.
  14. Perform general welding repairs.
  15. Maintain a safe and clean workspace at all times.
  16. Responsible to follow the Occupational Health and Safety Act and all Can Art Company Policies.

Qualification Required

  1. Must have 433A Industrial Millwright license.
  2. Minimum 3 years of millwright experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  3. Ability to install, maintain, test, troubleshoot, and repair electrical equipment.
  4. Good knowledge of hydraulic circuits/diagnostics, and basic electrical knowledge.
  5. Read and interpret component drawings/blueprints.
  6. Proficient in welding.
  7. PLC experience is an asset.
  8. Basic knowledge of Microsoft suites and Megamation program is an asset.
  9. Previous experience with metal processing, heavy stamping, or die casting equipment is an asset.

Working Conditions

  1. Plant Environment.
  2. Twelve hour rotating continental shift.
  3. Exposure to loud noise and heat.
  4. May be required to lift up to 50lbs.
  5. Overtime as needed.

Salary Range: $41.29/hr
