Job description

Our client, an oil and gas company, is looking to hire a Contractor Confirmations & Counterparty Management Analyst to their team for an initial 6-month contract with a possibility of extension/conversion. This role is currently hybrid, 4 days per week in office in Calgary.


Your responsibilities include:

  • Counterparty Onboarding and Management: Oversee the onboarding of new commodity counterparties, including customer setup, KYC screening, and maintaining counterparty data in trading and ERP systems.
  • Trade Confirmation Management: Process and manage daily commodity trade confirmations across various ETRM platforms, ensuring alignment with commercial contracts and company policies.
  • Data Maintenance and Cleanup: Collaborate on data cleanup and ensure accurate counterparty information across ETRM and ERP systems in preparation for system upgrades.
  • System Information Updates: Ensure systems such as SAP, Solarc Right Angle, Allegro Horizon, and others are updated with current and accurate counterparty data.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Maintain organized and accurate trade confirmation records, ensuring compliance with corporate policies and internal controls.
  • Interdepartmental Collaboration: Act as a liaison between Trading/Marketing, Contracts, Legal, Credit, Treasury, and other departments to facilitate seamless operations.
  • Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and ensuring adherence to policies and controls.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for enhancing operational processes, controls, and customer service, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Must Have Qualifications:

  • Post-Secondary education in either business, finance, or legal is required.
  • Experience in a commodity trading/marketing environment.
  • Previous exposure and good understanding of commodity trade confirmation processes.
  • Strong computer skills & proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly in Outlook, Excel & Word.
  • Working knowledge with various ETRM platforms (e.g. Egistix, OMS, Allegro Horizon, RightAngle) considered an asset.
  • Experience with SAP software considered an asset.
  • Experience with Content Server and/or SharePoint considered an asset.
  • Experience in data analytics considered an asset.
