The Role

Marco is looking for a Junior Accountant to join our team in St. John's, NL. Reporting to the Controller, the Junior Accountant is responsible for assisting with the timely preparation and processing of financial information and a wide variety of other accounting duties.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:

1. Completing daily and month accounting for several related companies
2. Reconciling and posting daily sales
3. Posting of accounts payable and preparing cheque runs
4. Reconciling and posting credit card and petty cash reports
5. Preparing and posting of hourly payroll
6. Preparing various month end reconciliations
7. Preparing and analyzing month end financial statements
8. Assisting with other projects as assigned

Qualifications:

1. 1-3 years previous experience in an accounting role
2. Completion of post-secondary degree/diploma/certificate with a focus on accounting
3. Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
4. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
5. Strong organization skills and ability to work independently
