About the Psychology Department
The psychology department in the Faculty of Social Sciences at Brock University has over 900 undergraduate majors in Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science programs with a co-op education option. In addition, approximately 50 graduate students are enrolled in our MA and PhD programs, which focus on Behavioural and Cognitive Neuroscience, Lifespan Development, and Social/Personality psychology.
About the Position
The psychology department at Brock University invites applications for a probationary tenure-track teaching-intensive position at the rank of Assistant Professor, effective January 1, 2026. The workload of a Teaching-Intensive Faculty member shall normally be 60% teaching, 20% service, and 20% research/scholarly/creative activities.
This position has a 3.0 credit teaching load. The successful candidate will teach required undergraduate statistics and research methods courses, including two full-credit sections of PSYC 2F23, a 2nd-year psychology course entitled Statistics and Research Design in the Behavioural Sciences.
Qualifications
We seek candidates with demonstrated experience and effectiveness teaching university undergraduate statistics and research methods courses in Psychology. Applicants should have a completed Ph.D. in Psychology. Priority will be given to candidates with teaching experience in undergraduate psychology courses on statistics and research methods. Experience with SPSS, R, Excel, and JAMOVI is an asset.
