Overview

The primary responsibilities of this position are primarily working with concrete and reinforced steel for precast concrete structures. This is a demanding job that requires good physical condition and the ability to maintain high attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. Concrete finishing experience is required.

Responsibilities

  • Collecting materials, assembling cages, setting up casts, and pouring concrete
  • Raking, tamping, and leveling poured concrete
  • Cleaning and oiling concrete moulds
  • Applying screed finish to concrete
  • Transporting raw materials throughout the plant manually
  • Removing rubble and other debris to maintain warehouse cleanliness
  • Checking finished precast for damage and defects
  • Assisting in minor concrete repairs

Qualifications

Education Required:

  • High School Diploma

Years of Experience

  • Less than 1 year to less than 2 years in construction or concrete industry

Specific Experience

  • Perform repetitive, physical labour for long periods of time in a dusty, dirty, wet and muddy environment
  • Maintain high levels of safety and be aware of surroundings
  • Be very detail oriented
  • Be able to work unsupervised and be self-motivated
  • Self-starter with excellent work ethic
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong team player with a positive attitude

  • Maintain high level of safety at all times
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, high-production environment
  • Willing to work overtime and shifts when needed including Saturdays
  • Able to work unsupervised, motivated to complete all tasks
  • Able to communicate and work well with others in a team environment
  • Repetitive tasks
  • Maintain a professional attitude at all times, especially when handling stressful situations

Own Tools/Equipment

  • Steel-toed safety boots

Compensation Offer

  • Wage: $21 – $24/hour, based on experience
  • Unionized, permanent, Full-time, 44 hours/week
