Manager, Industrial Structures

Agilus is recruiting for a Manager, Industrial Structures in the engineering consulting industry in North York, Ontario.

A typical day:

1. Manage day-to-day client interactions
2. Managing project execution
3. Planning, executing and delivery of Structural Engineering projects, ensuring the project is within budget and on schedule while managing the clients’ expectations
4. Act as a Project Manager on projects where structural engineers are prime consultants
5. Procure new projects and clients by identifying business development opportunities, understanding industry and development in the GTA
6. Managing project financials
7. Oversee and develop detailed structural designs for a variety of structural engineering projects such as: commercial and industrial building structures, transportation facilities, structures for gas industry and power generation, underground water retention structures, retaining walls etc.

Successful candidates will have:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Civil / Structural Engineering
2. Professional Engineer designation (P.Eng.) is required
3. Must have a minimum of 15 years of relevant work experience
4. Advanced understanding of concrete and steel codes, knowledge of finite element analysis, building structural design, the Ontario and National Building Codes, the building permit processes, and applicable regulations, and standards related to structural engineering projects
5. Experience with technical report writing
6. Must have valid drivers license and be able to visit sites as required
