Job Description
- Performs holter hook-ups and scanning, stress testing, stress testing with echo/nuclear/pharmacological, ECG’S, ambulatory BP monitor hook ups, dobutamine studies, and IV insertion for contrast studies.
- Acts as an advocate for safety and demonstrates principles, practices and processes that will optimize a safe environment for all.
- Records findings and maintains accurate and complete electronic patient demographics and charts.
- Communicates with hospital staff and other team members to ensure seamless patient care.
- Prepares and ensures proper set up of examination rooms, equipment, supplies, applicable consent forms and related details associated with the reason of the patient encounter.
- Ensures delivery of excellent customer service.
- Assists with quality improvement projects as requested.

Qualifications
- Completion of a recognized diploma program in Cardiac Technology required.
- Current Registration in good standing with the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists (CSCT).
- Current BCLS.
- Up to 3 years’ experience in an academic, outpatient environment, preferred.
- 1 year of experience in advanced ECG and rhythm interpretation skills, Stress Testing and Holter monitor hook-up and interpretation.
- Must have a good understanding of the principles of Women’s Health and their impact on cardiac testing.
- Certificate & competency in IV insertion, an asset.
- Community college course in arrhythmia recognition and performance of ECG’s/Holters and stress testing.
- Proficiency with Computer, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proven attendance and punctuality.
- Able to work independently or with a team, meeting tight timelines and be flexible in a women-centred environment.
- Demonstrated record of good performance and acceptable attendance will be considered as part of the selection criteria.
- Professional behaviour and communication that meets the standards of the professional regulatory college or association, as applicable, and the standards of Women’s College Hospital.
- This position plays a critical role in acting as an advocate for safety and will demonstrate principles, practices and processes that will optimize a safe environment for all.
