What you’ll do

Developers at appficiency are challenged to not just create efficient and reliable code, but to do so using and developing a complete business process understanding and savvy. You will be tasked to develop solutions that will solve a business problem and then write and create creative code that solves the problem. Job Description

We’re looking for a dynamic, agile, clean-code-loving developer to join our team and help us develop amazing software. We need a co-op to assist us in delivering our proprietary implementation methodology to our clients.

Responsibilities

You will be required to:

• Develop solutions in the following lines of business:
• Services
• Products
• Integration
• Potentially develop iOS and Android applications
• Potentially develop Microsoft and other framework-based applications
• Understand business logic and from there write new software code, troubleshoot and make modifications to existing software code, or integrate software applications and modules in accordance with agreed-upon specifications, created in partnership with consultants.
• Participate in planning sessions with team members to analyze development requirements, provide design options, and provide work breakdown and estimates of work.
• Provide timely status updates for areas of individual responsibilities within projects to supervisor.
• Develop code using disciplined code development processes, adhering to software best practice guidelines, and corporate policies.
• Ability to engage customers, negotiate sensible and favorable requirements, execute design documentation, communication of understanding and results.
• Work with the consulting team and the clients to resolve issues uncovered during integration and user acceptance testing.
• Create, review, and maintain all required technical documentation/manual related to assigned software to ensure supportability and reuse.
• Assist in the identification and implementation of short-term and long-term solution options, including risk assessments.
• Assist with improvements to prevent problems, including problem resolution workflow.

Qualifications and Skills

• Eligible to work in Canada
• Nice to have: ability to travel to the United States.
• Must have knowledge of JavaScript and XML coding.
• Nice to have: Knowledge of SOAP, JSON, and REST technologies is considered an asset.
• Good analytical/problem-solving/debugging skills.
• Quick to adapt to new technologies/fix existing solutions.
• Ability to deliver high-quality work on time in a high-energy, fast-paced environment.
• Ability to collaborate and brainstorm with business analysts and other developers in a dynamic team environment.
• Strong planning, organization, and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects.

Preferred Experience

• Nice to have: Strong NetSuite programming, business, and administrator know-how.
• Nice to have: Experience in SuiteBuilder, SuiteScript and SuiteScript API, SuiteBundler, SuiteFlow, and SuiteTalk.
• Familiarity with Eclipse IDE.
• SuiteTax API know-how a great plus.
• Understanding of the NetSuite SAFE practices.
• Preferred to have experience with NetSuite Plug-in model for customization.
• Designing applications and familiar with design patterns.
• Proficient in NetSuite Scripting for the NetSuite ERP Platform.
• Working knowledge or experience on integration platforms such as Celigo (Integrator.io), Dell Boomi, SPS etc. is considered an asset.

Salary Range

• Competitive based on past experience and program.

Travel

• Willingness to travel, the position requires minimal travel to the US.
