The Impact You'll Make and What We'll Accomplish Together

As a Mental Health Counsellor at THCC, you will work with a dedicated team of health experts providing comprehensive, holistic healthcare. You will support clients both in person and virtually from our clinic located in Toronto's Financial District, offering a range of counselling services, including short-term and long-term, for a professional network of clients and those referred through their Employee Assistance Plan (EAP).

Here's How

  • Provide individual counselling sessions, utilizing various therapeutic techniques tailored to each client's needs.
  • Collaborate with THCC practitioners and other healthcare team members for a cohesive approach to care.
  • Support clients both in person and virtually from our THCC clinic.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, clinical supervision, and peer support sessions for ongoing professional development.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with healthcare and TELUS Health regulations.
  • Conduct standardized intake assessments and satisfaction surveys tailored to the THCC service model.
  • Utilize support from the THCC Client Care team to manage administrative tasks, allowing you to focus on clinical responsibilities.

Qualifications

Education and Certifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Professional membership with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) or College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO).
  • Certification or extensive training in Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), Narrative Therapy, and/or Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

Experience and Skills:

  • 5 to 10 years of experience as a mental health counsellor, supporting a diverse range of clients and issues.
  • Strong understanding of adult mental health, capable of addressing both short-term and long-term cases.
  • High level of professionalism with experience engaging high-powered clients.
  • Ability to manage multiple case management platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct thorough intake assessments and develop tailored treatment plans in collaboration with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and openness to feedback, as demonstrated in peer support groups and supervision meetings.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Effective time management skills to handle high caseloads and administrative tasks.
  • Tech-savvy with the capability to provide telephonic and virtual clinical support.
  • Self-starter able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in EAP or providing support to clients within a limited number of sessions is considered an asset.
