Kawartha Cardiology Clinic (KCC) is a busy, progressive, fully accredited, state-of-the-art facility serving a large geographic population. There are 7 Cardiologists and over 80 clinical and support staff at KCC. Our facility offers an extensive range of services including specialized programs in vascular, stroke, diabetes, and cardiac care. We perform transthoracic echocardiograms, exercise and Dobutamine stress echocardiograms, pediatric echocardiograms, and transesophageal echocardiograms.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years Medical Reception experience an asset.
- Proficiency in EMR systems, Microsoft Office, and Word programs and the ability to operate office equipment (photocopier, scanner, fax).
- Knowledge of medical terminology in Cardiology.
- Flexibility & Adaptability to workflow and schedule changes.
- Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Positive and friendly attitude.
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
- Ability to prioritize and re-prioritize work.
- Ability to deal professionally, collaboratively, and effectively with physicians, team members, and the public.
- Ability to manage multiple demands within specified timelines.
- Understanding and compliance of confidentiality and privacy under the Personal Health Information Protection Act.
Duties:
- Triaging and scheduling of patient appointments, internal and external referrals.
- Answering phones, transferring calls, and receiving voicemails and email communications.
- Receiving and sending of medical records by fax, mail, and electronic methods.
- Confirming patient appointments and following up with missed appointments. Taking patient concerns and delivering messages to the doctors/nurses for decision on patient care.
- Collaboration and communication with internal and external (hospital) team members.
- Preparation & tracking of patient electronic medical records.
- Scanning and/or filing of medical records electronically.
