Profile

Qualifications & Experience
Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible management and leadership in medical and healthcare administration.
Ability to actively promote and support clinical integration of services.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
Evidence of leadership ability, creativity, integrity, initiative and fiscal management.
Strong analytical, organizational and problem solving skills.
Strong collaborative, communication, interpersonal and team skills.
Experience in process improvement methodologies such as LEAN is an asset.

Education
Medical degree and current license to practice medicine in the Province of Manitoba.
Formal training in health care administration is an asset.

Responsibilities
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the geographic area CMO is responsible for leadership of strategic medical management activities which contribute to the performance of the organization and promote patient flow and quality of care.
The CMO is committed to the integration of acute and community programs and services as well as continually improving the level of patient/client care provided. The CMO will ensure the highest quality of physician practice through the recruitment and retention of physicians and provide leadership and assistance in expanding the physician network and building partnerships with local fee-for-service physicians.

As a member of the Senior Management Team, the CMO will provide advice on all medical and clinical/community matters to the Chief Operating Officer and other members of the Senior Management Team. This position will also provide leadership and direction to Program and Service Directors and Site Medical Managers, creating an environment which supports creativity and innovation and assists in fulfilling their roles and responsibilities.

A large responsibility of the CMO is ensuring Medical Staff are aware of and comply with the Medical Staff By-laws, Rules, and Regulations as well as Hospital and ACCESS Centre policies and procedures.
This position is a leadership and collaboration role. The successful candidate must have the ability to work with, lead and collaborate with many different groups and stakeholders either inside or outside of the hospital.

This position is subject to a Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector Search, and an Adult Abuse Registry Check. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred.
