What You'll Get To Do
The Quality Assurance Manager will develop and maintain the company audit schedule, conducting internal company audits and facilitating external audits. They will also conduct investigations generated from safety and/or non-compliance events reported in the hazard report database; serve as a Subject Matter Expert; and perform the following, but not limited to, data gathering; interviewing; data analysis; root cause determination; risk assessments and Corrective Action collaboration and development with leads.
Operations
- Conduct audits as assigned within assigned timelines
- Conduct interviews to gain information applicable regulatory compliance
- Identify applicable regulations
- Gather data and evidence to support the audit process
- Analyze data to identify trends and conduct root cause analysis
- Collaborate with leaders to develop Corrective Action Plans to address the root causes
- Collect information and evidence gain and compile into a final report
- In coordination with the VP, Quality and Safety, develop and maintain audit programs and develop and maintain the company Audit Schedule
- Completion of assigned follow-up of corrective action plans driven from the Hazard report database
- Completion of audit reports and summaries for review and distribution
- Completion of regulatory or procedural audits as directed
- Develop and distribute audit reports/findings arising from the performance of regulatory/procedural audits
- Observe any regulatory or procedural shortcomings and advise the applicable department head of the observed shortcomings or in instances where a regulatory non-compliance is observed, generate a finding against the non-compliance with the approval of the VP, Quality and Safety
- Comply with all regulatory and company standards, policies, and procedures
- Use personal protective equipment as required
- Actively identify and report hazards and potential hazards
- Carry out their duties safely within regulatory and company standards, policies, processes, and procedures as trained
- Use safety equipment (tools, Proper Protective Equipment etc.) as provided
- Actively identify and report hazards and deficiencies (when in doubt report)
- Assist in development of company processes and procedures as required
- Other duties as assigned
Safety
- Demonstrate knowledge of employee responsibilities regarding safety and actively participate in the Company’s Safety Management system
- SMS department head responsible to approve SMS caps
- Once assigned an audit through the SMS Database: must ensure all steps are followed as outlined in the SMS Procedures Manual in respect to the review, investigation, hazard analysis, root cause analysis, corrective action plan and monitoring of each individual report
- Actively support the safety management system by following SMS processes and encouraging a safety reporting culture in your department
- Promote occupational health and safety within your department and participate in the development and monitoring of safety training
- Proactively communicate hazards and SMS initiatives with your department
MANAGERS, SUPERVISORS AND LEADS – have been delegated the authority and are responsible to the Department Head to actively identify hazards and deficiencies and report through the SMS (Safety Management System) Program reporting system. Communicate with all personnel within their respective department and other departments as required to maintain effective day to day activities. Ensure regulatory and company standards are maintained. Assist in the development and maintenance of company processes and procedures. (Quality Assurance activities)
Leadership
- Create and maintain a positive company culture that supports employee participation
- Conduct annual performance reviews
- Embark on employment equity initiatives; engaging with all employees to promote employment equity and encouraging employees to undertake the self-declaration survey updating as necessary
- All levels of the organization share responsibility for human rights within the organization overseeing and promoting continuous improvement on human rights and employment equity initiatives
Skills & Experience We Value
- Aircraft Maintenance Engineer experience is preferred
- Post-secondary education in related field an asset
- Previous experience in related role required
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrated leadership skills an asset
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Adobe, in addition to internal systems
- Clear understanding of Quality Assurance Audit processes and procedures
- Ability to obtain and maintain all required security clearances
- Travel required
- Preference given to Inuit Land Claims Beneficiaries
- Inuktitut language considered an asset
