Software International (SI) supplies technical talent to various Fortune 100/500/1000 companies in Canada/US.

Our client is a large, publicly traded software company with operations in 36+ countries worldwide with revenue exceeding $35 billion. They specialize in the acquisition of B2B companies and the design, implementation, and support of various B2B software across a wide range of industries.

Role: Business Development Manager M&A

Type: Hybrid (3 days in office)

Salary: $90,000 - 100,000/year + commission + bonus + benefits + vacation + discounted company equity purchase + RRSP matching

Job Summary:

This is a client-facing role, and we are looking for a driven, energetic, and professional individual to join our growing team. The successful candidate will possess exceptional communication skills and a talent for sales and sales team management. The role of Business Development Manager provides an opportunity to manage a Business Development/Lead Generation sales team and offers a challenging career opportunity as well as career advancement within the company. Working closely with senior leaders within the company, the successful candidate will help find creative ways to source and connect with suitable software companies for acquisition.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  1. Manage the day-to-day responsibilities of a Business Development/Lead Generation sales team.
  2. Design and manage lead generation dashboards and reports.
  3. Help identify potential M&A leads.
  4. Assist in the team's M&A sales pipeline management process.
  5. Mentor and train junior business development associates.
  6. Respond to ad-hoc requests in a high-pressure and time-sensitive environment.
  7. Conduct research to identify and map out potentially attractive markets and software companies to acquire.
  8. Demonstrate creativity, persistence, and credibility in reaching out to Owners, Operators, and C-Suite leadership.

Skills and Experience:

  1. 7+ years of experience in a business development/lead generation role, ideally in a B2B environment.
  2. 3+ years of experience managing an M&A sales/lead generation team.
  3. Ability to manage a pipeline of leads and exceed prospecting target quotas. Highly metrics-driven with extensive experience in cold calling founders and C-suite executives to generate an effective acquisition funnel.
  4. Strong communication skills with confidence in presenting to C-suite executives and business owners.
  5. Experience working in M&A, software, or technology is considered an asset.
  6. Familiarity with Salesforce is an asset.
  7. Multilingual skills are an asset as we are expanding globally!
  8. Professional attitude with a persistent and solid work ethic.
  9. Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team-oriented hybrid environment.
  10. Excellent academic performance in an undergraduate business degree.
