Role Summary

The Material Planner will plan and effectively control the purchase, delivery and usage of all raw materials and packaging components to the production lines and our co-packing partners. To efficiently control the inventory of those raw materials to minimize waste while managing budgets.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Procurement of dry goods to support production:
    1. Purchase Order creation and management
    2. Order optimization to minimize Purchasing Plan Variance
    3. Truckload optimization to minimize transport costs
    4. Shortage reporting and order expediting
  2. Management of suppliers, carriers, co-packers and third-party storage:
    1. Relationship building
    2. Decision-making on carrier usage and approval of freight charges
    3. Arrangement and execution of stock transfers to/from third parties
  3. Planning & system maintenance:
    1. Forecast submission for supplier planning
    2. MRP parameter maintenance in JDE
    3. Bill of Material management
  4. Inventory control & risk management:
    1. WO component reconciliation and periodic cycle counts
    2. Asset disposal & provision and component end-of-life
    3. Delivering target inventory levels on budget
  5. Collaborative projects:
    1. Support the New Product Development process to timely and successful launches
    2. Represent procurement on regional and national projects
    3. Ownership of WorkflowGen process and item setup submission for vintage changeover

What You Bring

  • Diploma or degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management or Logistics
  • 1-2 years’ experience in planning/procurement
  • Must be highly organized and able to multi-task
  • Must have good customer service skills
  • Must have strong computer skills and knowledge of MRP/DRP
  • JDE/JDA specific experience an asset

Compensation: Budgeted Range – $52,427.00 - $67,905.00. The budgeted range takes into account several factors and qualifications that are considered in making compensation decisions including experience, education, training, licenses, certifications, and other business and organizational requirements. Base pay is only one component of the total rewards offering at Arterra.
