Risk Manager/Estimator - Major Transit Facility Project

We are seeking an experienced Risk Manager/Estimator to join our team for a significant transit infrastructure project in Ontario. This 3-year greenfield project involves the construction of a state-of-the-art maintenance and storage facility, including potential geothermal systems and EV battery storage.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead the estimating process for this large-scale construction management project.
2. Experience with construction management, design-build and stip sum delivery models is ideal.
3. Assemble accurate, timely, and well-organized estimates for the various project scopes.
4. Coordinate with sub-contractors, analyze quotes, and assist in the buy-out process.
5. Monitor project costs and identify potential challenges throughout the construction phase.
6. Maintain and update databases for labour rates, material pricing, and project costs.
7. Collaborate with project managers and site superintendents to manage risk and cost control.
8. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior estimating staff.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
2. 8-10 years of estimating experience in Commercial/ICI General Contracting, with projects up to $80M in value.
3. Advanced knowledge of estimating strategies, techniques, and construction contracts.
4. Experience with various delivery models including Design-Build, Construction Management, and Stipulated Sum contracts.
5. Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
6. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
7. Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
8. Experience with transit facilities or sustainable building practices is an asset.

Preferred Skills:

1. Familiarity with geothermal systems and EV technology.
2. Experience with public sector projects.
