Mine Operations Daily Planner

The Greenstone Mine commenced production in May 2024 and will be one of Canada’s largest open-pit gold mines, with annual production expected to average nearly 400,000 ounces of gold per year for an initial 14-year mine life with additional potential from a large underground deposit. Greenstone Gold Mines LP is owned by Equinox Gold Corp, a Vancouver-based mining company with seven other operating mines in the United States, Mexico and Brazil.

Greenstone Mine is seeking a Mine Operations Daily Planner to join our team. Reporting to the Mine Operations Superintendent, the Daily Planner is responsible for overseeing the planning and tracking of open pit operations. Being the main point of contact between the Mine Operations and the Mine Technical Services team, they will be responsible for:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Collaborating with senior supervisors, engineering, geology, and mobile maintenance teams to ensure all tasks are aligned with production targets.
• Using short-range mine planning data and information to set realistic daily production targets.
• Developing and executing daily production plans based on the short-range mine plan.
• Monitoring and adjusting production targets as needed to meet overall operational goals.
• Managing stockpiling locations and ensuring materials are stored and accessed efficiently.
• Overseeing the grades of material delivered to the crusher to ensure they meet processing requirements.
• Working with geology and quality control teams to monitor and maintain grade consistency.
• Identifying and resolving any operational challenges that may affect production goals or efficiency.
• Tracking daily production performance, providing reports on achievements, and documenting any deviations or adjustments to the production plan.
• Managing projects related to mining tasks.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

• Knowledge of Ontario legislation.
• Self-motivated.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Ability to work independently as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in the language of operation.
• In-depth knowledge of mining operations, including excavation, stockpiling, and ore processing.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Detail-oriented with a focus on operational efficiency.

EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION:

• Minimum of 5 years in open pit mining.
• Supervisory experience considered an asset.
• Experience creating blend plans and managing material grades is considered an asset.

LOCATION:

• This position will be based in Geraldton, Ontario.
