Job description

Our client located in Newmarket, Ontario has an immediate opening for aProduction Scheduler.

Responsibilities

  1. Input all work-orders and their operations into ERP (Manufactured and Managed business).
  2. Enter all machine runtime into ERP.
  3. Audit Scheduling System inputs/outputs for errors and fix.
  4. Update Scheduling System and ERP with any work order changes, nonconformance labor steps etc.
  5. Champion all Production Meetings (relating to production items), present fast response meeting, update manufacturing progress.
  6. Follow up on necessary actions from production meetings.
  7. Create all Purchase Orders for managed business.
  8. Identify and report plant capacity constraints and determine plan of action (including overtime requirements/outsource) and present to required Production Manager.
  9. Create all outside service purchase orders and monitor outside service providers for deliveries.
  10. Direct all technical information to appropriate department contact if required.
  11. Attend weekly workload review meeting, be prepared to run scenarios and recommend monthly job schedules.
  12. Champion the Advanced Planning Meeting (APM) meetings and update changes (in real time).
  13. Monitor steel release to production, ensure on-time delivery to primary operation.
  14. Follow up on all overdue production-related purchase orders flagged by the scheduling system.
  15. Arrange delivery and receipt of stress relieving operations (including purchase order).
  16. Coordinate with maintenance to understand the Preventative maintenance Schedule and plan production accordingly.
  17. Be prepared to react to unscheduled machine downtime in order to maintain production schedule.
  18. Keep track of lessons learned relating to proper workflow and process efficiency.
  19. Enter all Customer POs into ERP.
  20. Able to travel as required for investigational or training purposes.

Education

  1. Minimum completion of Grade 12 diploma.
  2. Mechanical Engineering or Technical diploma, an asset.

Skills:

  1. Intermediate Microsoft Office and Outlook skills.
  2. Ability to learn new software and integrate into company business system is a requirement.
  3. Ability to research and stay current on new software technologies relation to planning and scheduling is a requirement.
  4. Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills.
  5. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  6. Excellent interpersonal skills.
  7. Self-motivated and able to work independently.
